You will all be aware of the current situation concerning coronavirus which is having a significant effect of many lives. Caterham Pumas committee have been monitoring events and met formally yesterday to consider our response at this time, especially in light of slightly differing approaches in football on how best to manage this pandemic.
Caterham Pumas committee have concluded that the club will continue our football activities. We are content for our teams to continue to play and train as usual as we think this is in the best interests of our young players. However we acknowledge that this must be balanced against any particular vulnerabilities some individual members may have and there is a responsibility for any members/players who display symptoms or are diagnosed with the virus not to attend matches or training sessions. This is common sense and must be adhered to, to help prevent the spread of infection.
This approach follows current Government guidance and is in line with the approach currently being adopted by the FA, Surrey FA and Epsom & Ewell Youth Football League. Please follow the link for Surry FA’s latest update on the situation;
We are aware that both Surrey Youth League and Surrey County Women’s & Girls League have made the decision to postpone their fixtures until after the Easter school holidays.
We understand that this is a rapidly changing situation and we will continue to monitor the advice from the football national governing body and Government. We will ensure that we update you as soon as there is any change to this position.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding in these difficult times and we would ask you to share this message across our membership, i.e. parents, guardians and players.
Please everyone stay safe.
